Okay, so it’s not what anyone thought they’d be seeing to end this tournament. Rather than watching Rafael Nadal waste the smoldering Roger Federer one more time, we instead get a (sigh) Cinderella story – the gawky Swede Robin Söderling. One is the second best tennis player in the world; the other beat the best to get here. Both are looking for firsts; Federer for his first Roland Garros win to complete his career grand slam and do something Pete Sampras never did, Söderling for his first tournament that has been seen by human eyes (and not the cold and calculating TennisBots that have become rampant in the sport). Let’s do this!
