followed hockey and the Sabres just as well might not have existed as far I was concerned up until the first season after the lockout. Frankly, I wasn’t all that fond of Buffalo or any of the economic and self-image problems that have driven

This morning, I brought in my family’s copy of the New York Times only to see the face of Susan Wehle, a cantor at one of the local Buffalo synagogues and one of my sister’s teachers at Hebrew High, among the images displayed on the front page of the victims of Flight 3407, which crashed in Clarence, New York, about 5 miles from my house Thursday night, killing everyone on board as well as one resident of the house it hit.
