Being, as we are, obsessed to an unhealthy degree with the goings on of Deadspin here, we here at The Rookies could see the winds of change just like the rest of you. The proverbial fur has already begun to fly over at the ’spin, so we are taking it as our solemn task to document the carnage. Therefore, without bias or preference, we plan to simply post a list of those who have tasted the cruel blast of the Banhammer since May 31st’s DUAN. This will be updated as need be.

First off, I’m impressed you guys know I was banned already.
Secondly, are we really that surprised? In AJ’s original post, he says that a band of “ninjas” is executing people.
I’d bet all the money I have that some of the ninjas are Unsilent and Suss. They both do not like me. Unsilent even spent some time when Will’s book tour was in DC to apologize to a friend of mine that he had to spend all night hanging out with me. Even though he’s never spoken as much as one word to me in person.
It’s whatever guys. Deadspin has sucked since Will left, I haven’t been commenting since then. *shrugs*

Great article. I just wonder why Denton wouldn’t look at some of the other fundamental issues at the heart of Deadspin’s being low man on the totem pole. I’ve heard more than one person say the site has gone downhill quite a bit since Will left.

Apparently I displayed a pattern of going off topic and being unfunny. I asked the comment complaint folks in an email why I got banhammered before the announcement, and that’s what they said.
On Friday I got FAILBOT’D after a sort of lame Erin Andrews joke, something along the lines of “She should do Lap Dancing with the Stars, and I’m a Star.” Then Wonderlic was wondering what happened to his star on SEC’S thread and I replied that mine had disappeared and made some blast about Gawker IT drinking at lunch and then I was cut off. I was told I could re-audition, for what that’s worth.
A hellabusy day of closing at the office, I think, has kept me under the radar and alive/starred, but reading the news about “Past transgressions” (or whatever it was) has me wondering if the Super Secret Ninja Squad is going to go through the backlog and silently kill us in our sleep.

I have no problem with rules being enforced. My only beef is the fact that AJ decided to be rude and condescending when he announced it. I tried to let him know that via email, but he either didn’t understand my point or didn’t want to. Instead, when he responded to my emails, he chose to act like he had been completely polite about it, which is complete horseshit.
None of this is the end of the world. It’s just a fucking website. Have rules, enforce the rules, whatever, that’s all fine and good. But there’s no need to be a complete fucking asshole about it.
